# Validator Liveness

> Validator liveness rewards and the tokenomics behind them

In each round, each live validator records its liveness activity with a ValidatorLivenessActivityRecord. This rewards a validator for being available to validate and confirm transactions. It also provides them with initial funds to purchase extra traffic for higher throughput, after onboarding.
